Sing the Praises of Pants

I got a call from Bud on Sunday about pants. To be fair, we had talked about it in rehearsal, and noted that some of our performance wear (notably mine) was looking tired. Apparently denim fades. However, Bud thinks we should all match, so I went to old Navy in search of "Loose" fit jeans (so rarely are things actually loose on me) in the middle, not too distressed shade. I found them--they even fit pretty well (fabulously unlikely, but hey...).

Anyway, the point of this is not to talk about my burgeoning status as a fashion plate, but rather, in a moment of a cappella nexus, "These are a few of my favorite things" came over the Old Navy in-store speakers. Old Navy has about the most ridiculous in-store music I've ever heard. In attempting to reinforce the kitch-y, eclectic corporate image they've created in their advertisments and in-store decor, they scour not-so-greatest hits CD's from europop to folk, to demented christmas, all in search of songs both bizarre and frugal.

The version of "Favorite Things", I am pretty sure, is the same one the M-Pact! used as the basis for the arrangement they've been singing for the past several years. The lead singer is a chick, but sounds eerily like him. In that same way where the spaceship in Hitchhiker's Guide produces a warm drink that is almost, but not entirely, unlike tea.
